Colorado Festivals

Colorado is saturated with festivals the celebrate everything all the time including music, food, beer, wine, film, sports, pride, the outdoors, fantasies, holidays, arts, crafts, history and rodeos. In the Winter, Colorado festivals celebrate snow, skiing, snowboarding and mountain sports. In the summer Colorado festivals are about the rivers, resorts, downtowns and parks. In the Fall, Colorado festivals celebrate Oktober, fall colors, halloween and agriculture. Residents and visitors enjoy these celebrations surrounded by the magnificent Colorado Rocky Mountains year around.

Music festivals highlight genres like country, bluegrass, blues, rock, metal, Americana, reggae, classical, EDM, guitar, tribute and many more. Every Colorado community hosts at least one signature festival every year. Grand Junction and the western slope hosts annual festivals like Mike the Headless Chicken Days, the Fruita Fat Tire Bike festival and the Country Jam. Telluride in the Southwest corner hosts the Telluride Bluegrass festival, the Ride Festival and the Brews and Blues festival. The FibArk festival celebrating Colorado’s rivers and magnificent whitewater has been taking place on the Arkansas River between Salida and Buena Vista since 1949.

Steamboat Springs is known for their Oktoberwest celebration in September and the Winter Carnival in February. Summit County is home to Copper Mountain and that’s where Sunsation, the best end of ski season celebration takes place in April. In the Summer, Copper hosts top notch festivals like Guitar Town, the Cider Fest and the Genuine Jazz and Wine Fest.

Over Labor Day weekend, Copper Country features the best bands for free right in Center Village. Breckenridge, also located in Summit County, hosts one of the best Oktober festivals in the country every September the weekend after Labor Day. In August, downtown Fort Collins is home to Bohemian Nights at New West Fest where top notch national and local bands perform on several stages for free. And the surface has even been scratched. Every September, Denver’s Great American Beer Festival hosts brewers and tasters from every corner of the America and tickets are usually available for only a few hours after they go on sale. A person could spend a lifetime enjoying the festivals Colorado has to offer so it's time to get started. This week’s festivals in Colorado are listed below.
