7:30 pm We’re thrilled to welcome legendary pianist Garrick Ohlsson, gold-medal winner of the Chopin International Piano Competition and recipient of the Avery Fisher Prize, back to Boulder after many years to play Rachmaninoff’s exciting Piano Concerto No. 1. Living in the “Steppes of Colorado,” we'll experience a sense of kinship to Borodin’s opening work. Prokofiev’s monumental Symphony No. 5, one of the landmarks of 20th century orchestral repertoire, closes our evening of great Russian music.
