Montrose EventsMontrose events take place in the southwestern part of Colorado. Located close to the Black Canyon Natinal Park, Ouray, Ridgway and Telluride, Montrose is a great place to spend night and take in all the surrounding towns and activities. Their slogan is “Stay here. Play everywhere.”

The summer Montrose events are highlighted by the free Montrose Summer Music Series. On the first Friday of June, July, August and September, the Black Canyon Golf Course hosts free concerts on the driving range. Previous performers include Coco Montoya, Kris Lager Band, Sunny Sweeney, Vandoliers, Somebody’s Darling, Parker McCollum, Chris Daniels and the Kings and many more.

Pioneering and the old west are big part of the Montrose culture, so it only makes sense there’d be museums housing artifacts, exhibits and buildings featuring the past. This history is on display at the city’s three museums: Ute Indian Museum, the museum of the mountain West and the County Historical Museum.

When you make it to Montrose events and the Southern Colorado region, be sure to visit the Black Canyon National Park. If’s only 20 minutes east of Montrose and features breathtaking scenic views overlooking a 2700-foot-deep canyon where the Gunnison river flows below. Events and adventures at at the Black Canyon National Park include the Black Canyon Astronomy festival in the summer and ranger led snowshoe walks in the4 winter.
