Vail events and festivals go as big as the gigantic resort itself. They add to the enormous reputation America's largest ski resort has established since it opened in 1962.
At the base of Vail are 2 European style villages. To the west is Lions Head and to the east is Vail Village. Vail events take place in both locations as well as the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre and the Vail Golf Club. You can expect full-service amenities at either village. There are multi-leveled parking garages steps away from the center of the bustling squares. Both are loaded with shops, restaurants, apres ski bars, lodges and energy that you can only find at a ski village in Vail, Colorado. Iconic winter Vail events include Snow Days in December, the Burton U.S. Open in March, Spring Back to Vail and the Taste of Vail. Signature summer Vail events include the GoPro game in June, Bravo!Vail concerts throughout the summer, free concerts at the beautiful Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre, free bluegrass concerts at Solaris Plaza, King of the Mountain Volleyball Tournament, the Vail Lacrosse Shootout and an Oktoberfest so big it takes up two weekends in September.
