Closing Day

Closing day activities and events at Colorado Ski Resorts

Closing day events and activities at Colorado Ski ResortsClosing day events at ski resorts is a celebration of all good things coming to an end. Ski resorts put together free concerts featuring national headline acts, festivals that include wacky competitions like the "pond skim" where skiers or snowboarders zoom down the mountain into a pool full of water and try to get accross it without falling in. There's also the event where participants make cardboard sleds that race down a mountain sometimes with riders and sometimes without its riders. Most Colorado ski resorts close close from the end of March to the end of April, but Loveland Ski Resort and A-Basin usually stay open into May, June or July (depending on conditions).
