Communities and resorts embrace the season with lighting festivals, festive concerts and family events that include visits from the big guy - Santa Claus. Several of Santa’s helpers dress up like him take over street and slopes for special Colorado Christmas events you must see to believe.  The Santa races on Breckenridge's Main Street take place during the Lighting of Breckenridge. The Santa Ski Crawl takes place at Crested Butte when they try to break the record for the most Santa skiers.
