Marijuana and Cannabis
Marijuana and Cannabis events in Colorado became mainstream in 2012 after Colorado voters overwhelming voted to legalize recreational marijuana. This opened up a new Colorado industry centered around cannabis tourism for residents and vacationers. Tours of grow operations, cannabis cooking classes, and cannabis pairings have popped up around the state and are welcoming adults who hope to learn more about the science, benefits and faults of marijuana. Many would argue that concerts and festivals have always been marijuana and cannabis friendly events. It's also believed that Colorado ski areas have always been marijuana friendly. This isn't true. Colorado Ski resorts are located on federal property and federal law recognizes marijuana as illegal. Public use and sale of cannabis is still restricted by local communities and private property owners so you better ask before you spark up. Many find the science of cannabis fascinating. Marijuana has always been a part of the Colorado culture long before John Denver penned his song "Rocky Mountain High." Mind and physically altering substances like alcohol and drugs are not for everyone. There is a responsible way to use these substances and Colorado NORML lists these principals as the responsible way to use cannabis: 1. Adults Only | 2. No Driving | 3.Consider your set and setting | 4. Resist abuse | 5. Respect the rights of others. Below are this weeks cannabis events or click here to see all upcoming cannabis events.
