Pikes Peak Area Events
Pikes Peak Area events take place in the Colorado cities of Colorado Springs, Cripple Creek, Pueblo, Canon City, Monument, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, Woodland Park and Castle Rock. These Colorado cities are along the southern front range and include multiple famous tourist attractions like Pikes Peak in Manitou Springs, The Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and the Royal Gorge Railroad. The communities are connected by major highways I-25, I-50, Co24 and CO115. Canon City is known as home to the Royal Gorge (Colorado's a mini Grand Canyon). Cripple Creek is known as home to casino's and a fantastic gold mining history. Pueblo is known as home to the Colorado State Fairgrounds.
Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City are centralized downtowns with small town feeling shopping districts. Both host events for the family year around in area parks and along the main streets themselves. Don’t forget to visit downtown Colorado Springs as well where you’ll find parades and free concerts year around.
It’s easy for someone living in this area to hit Pikes Peak area events that are only an hour to an hour and half away. Signature events taking place in the Pikes Peak area include the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Auto Race in June, multiple free concerts around Colorado Springs all summer, The Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival in June, The Emma Crawford Coffin Races in October, The Colorado State Fair in August, The Pikes Peak Rodeo, The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off Balloon Festival over Labor Day weekend and many more.
